Just outside of Lebanon, Illinois lies the grave of Rhoda Calbreath.  According to urban legend, Rhoda was the mother of a teenage witch that was caught practicing witchcraft.  Being a devout Christian she saw this as an abomination.  Fearing that her daughter had made a pact with the Devil, Rhoda decided to cleanse her daughter of her sins.  Rhoda made her daughter confess before God and then strangled her immediately after to insure that her soul was in grace.  To cover her crime, Rhoda then buried her daughter in an unmarked grave in the Old Methodist Church Cemetery.

   To this day the young witch’s grave has never been located.  At night some claim to have heard the faint pleas of the teenage witch to her mother not to kill her.
